Our Notable Projects in 2023 – 2025:
The major categories of projects that we have been pursuing to help improve the lives of needy people in the area are:
1: Nursing – 13 full Scholarships to students currently studying nursing at the Ubaid Noor Medical Institute (UNMI)
The reason for the scholarships is three-fold. First, there are no job opportunities in the rural areas for the young women after they pass matriculation or F. Sc. (Intermediate) examination. Second, the orphans and other needy youth have no financial resources to pursue higher education in big cities. Therefore, the cycle of poverty is un-ending for them. Third, there is a dire need for healthcare and other professionals in the rural areas. PACL provides financial resources for needy youth to get out their cycle of poverty and serve the community. The scholarships cover full educational expenses, including tuition, books, uniforms, and daily transportation between the UNMI campus and the students’ respective villages. The students are in their second year of coursework.
2: Pharmacy – 2 full Scholarships to students currently studying pharmacy at the Ubaid Noor Medical Institute (UNMI).
There is a dire need for qualified pharmacists in the rural areas. The explanation provided in Paragraph 1 applies. The scholarships cover full expense, including tuition, books, uniforms, and daily transportation to and from the UNMI from the students’ respective villages. The students are in their second year of coursework.
3: M.D. (MBBS) – Granted a scholarship to MBBS coursework at the Rai Medical University, Sargodha.
Getting into a medical college is not easy for anyone. Furthermore, the students from rural areas face additional barriers. A female student from Kalabagh was able to get admission into a well-known medical college in Punjab, but she had no resources to pay tuition fee or her hostel expenses. PACL offered her a full scholarship to undertake MBBS studies. Now, she has passed the first-year exam and is now into her second year of the MBBS program
